IETF 85 Atlanta, is shaping up to be quite interesting.  There is currently a healthy debate taking place over which video codec will be mandatory in RTCWEB / WebRTC endpoints. The choices are H.264 avc and VP8.

Seems like VP8 is a natural selection considering there is no royalty but it is much more political and complex than that. We hope this next show of hands to vote one way or the other puts this to bed relatively quickly so we can get on with more pressing matters.

We are going to try and make it out there but not sure if it will happen with our current development schedule, which could mean 1 less vote for VP8 :/
